Source hierarchy
When sources disagree, higher beats lower. Claims on this site trace to, in order:
- IRS publications, forms, and instructions, for anything involving tax
- SEC rules, investor bulletins, and filings
- Treasury, Federal Student Aid, and the Social Security Administration, for their domains
- FINRA rules and investor guidance
- Peer-reviewed research on markets and investor behavior
- Fund prospectuses and official product documentation
- Established long-run datasets for historical market figures
Commentary, journalism, and other financial sites are not sources here. If we cannot trace a claim up this ladder, we either compute it ourselves from stated assumptions or we do not publish it.
How calculations are performed
Every worked example states its assumptions in the text: contribution, rate, time horizon, compounding frequency, and tax treatment where relevant. Compound growth uses standard time-value-of-money formulas with monthly compounding unless stated otherwise. Charts are generated from the same numbers shown in the text, never illustrated separately. The calculators run standard formulas in your browser, and the "How these work" section on the calculators page describes each one. Where a guide includes a "Show the math" box, it contains the assumptions, the formula, the result, and the limitations of the calculation.
How often figures are updated
Contribution limits, tax brackets, and program rules change annually or by legislation. Pages carrying such figures label them approximate and point to the primary source for current numbers, and we review them on an annual cycle. Evergreen material such as diversification or compounding is updated when the evidence moves, not on a cosmetic schedule.
Use of AI, disclosed plainly
Content on this site is drafted with the help of AI research and writing tools. The topic selection, methodology, source hierarchy, worked examples, and editorial framing are directed and reviewed by Karanvir Singh, and the same accuracy bar applies regardless of how a draft was produced: computed claims, named sources, stated limitations. We disclose this because trust is the product, and pretending otherwise would break it.
Conflicts and compensation
No ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements, no referral fees, and no compensation from any product mentioned anywhere on this site. The education is free because it is how prospective clients evaluate how we think. The founder's licensing status is stated precisely on the author page and in plain language wherever working together is discussed.
Corrections policy
Substantive errors are corrected promptly and noted on the affected page rather than silently rewritten. Report anything, large or small, to karanvir.singh@quantixmind.com. Corrections take priority over new content.
